As part of the international cooperation of ZAGUL Appraisal and Valuations with the international appraisal company GRS and the certification of Tom ZAGUL as an air and naval appraiser, the company received an international case in which it handled an aviation incident – an aircraft engine that failed during a flight.
A passenger plane belonging to Tanzania’s domestic flight airline Flightlink flew for maintenance from Dar es Salaam in Tanzania to Nairobi, Kenya. During the flight
A malfunction of the turbine engine was detected in the aircraft and the engine was disabled during the flight.
In addition to the malfunction, there was a fire of sensors that are supposed to warn of a temperature change and therefore the pilot did not receive a warning of a temperature change, but a direct warning of an engine malfunction and its deactivation. Thanks to the additional engine in the aircraft, the pilot landed the aircraft safely.
The aviation consultant of the Tanzanian airline instructed the airline to send the engine for overhaul with an engine company in Israel, in order to check the cause of the failure and the restoration of the engine. With the knowledge that the engine had been sent to Israel, a request was made to ZAGUL, which was asked to examine the cause of the damage and to estimate the manner and costs of rehabilitation. Last week the engine arrived in Israel and it was tested by the office staff, appraiser and engineer
Machines, and their findings are supposed to be transferred in the coming days to the Tanzanian insurer of the aircraft.
Adv. Tom Zagul, CEO of ZAGUL: “This is another example of the company’s international cooperation with insurers and reinsurers abroad and we are once again pleased to assist our partners in handling any incident, of any kind and in any place.”
